The chocolate salami is a very popular Italian dessert. I love it…and my children love it too. I could say that everybody loves it! Preparing it is quite easy. There are a lot of variations of this recipe that doesn’t require cooking.. I suggest you give it a try!

CHOCOLATE SALAMI RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
- 250 g of morning coffee biscuits or tea biscuits
- 80 g of Italian amaretti cookies
- 125 g of sugar
- 125 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 90 g unsweetened cocoa powder
METHOD
Let butter soften at room temperature.
Coarsely chop the amaretti cookies and set aside.
Break the biscuits into small pieces, but do not powder them (you can use a rolling pin, the back of a spoon or a meat tenderizer). Set aside.
In a large bowl, put the eggs with the sugar.
Beat them with an electric whisk until they turn pale yellow and foamy. Then add the softened butter.
Whisk for a few seconds.
Sift the unsweetened cocoa powder through a fine mesh colander in order to get rid of any lumps.
Add the amaretti cookies coarsely crushed.
Mix well with a spoon to combine all the ingredients.
Gradually add the biscuits and work until all the crumbs are completely coated with the chocolate mixture.
Shape this mixture into a log.
Wrap it in a cling film or baking paper.
Put it in the fridge for a couple of hours, then cut the chocolate salami into slices and serve. (You can also freeze it).
Enjoy it!
