Zuppa di sedano

zuppa di sedanoZuppa di sedano è un modo molto economico per gustare verdure fresche. Quando ero giovane, mi ricordo che mi hanno servito una zuppa di sedano in una enorme tazza da cappuccino, era cosi grande che ho dovuto usare tutte e due le mani per prenderla e nello stesso tempo mi sono anche scaldata. Ah, quelli si che erano tempi belli!

Zuppa di sedano: per 4 – 6

  • 1 litro (2 pinte) di brodo vegetale
  • 25 gr(1 oz) di burro
  • 1 cucchiaio di olio d’oliva
  • 1 cipolla media, tritata
  • 400 gr (2 tazze) di sedano, tritati (non abbiate paura di includere le foglie)
  • 3 patate medie, tagliate a cubetti
  • 50 ml (1/4 tazza) di latte
  • 1 cucchiaio di sale
  • Parmigiano per guarnire

zuppa di sedano

  1. Scaldare il burro e l’olio in una padella, aggiungere sedano, cipolla e patate, poi cuocere per pochi minuti, mescolando di tanto in tanto fino a far ammorbidire le verdure.
  2. Aggiungere il brodo e far cuocere per 20 minuti.
  3. Togliere dal fuoco e frullate utilizzando un frullatore ad immersione fino ad avere un composto liscio.
  4. In un tegame separato, scaldare il latte senza portarlo ad ebollizione.
  5. Mescolare il latte alla minestra.
  6. Servire con parmigiano.

Nearly all foods served at an Italian table have been gathered from someones garden or field, and is then served alongside homemade, pasta, gnocchi, and countless dishes that could not be recounted in this tiny space since each family's knowledge is unique ... well, you can only imagine. I have walked Rome, climbed to the top of the Vatican, seen Milan, Venice, the Cinque Terre, climbed mountains, walked The Path of the Gods, wandered the great city of Napoli, lived on the little Island of Ponza and gathered a pile of friends, family and photographs as well as invalueable experience along the way. I became a new immigrant to the U.S.A on December 15th, 2013. With the support of many great friends and a passion (bordering on obsession), I am here in search of the American Dream and to bring you the natural flavours and vibrant colours of Italy. All my pasta, gnocchi and biscotti are made by hand just as I saw Italians do in homes and good restaurants all over Italy, every day and sometimes, twice a day.
