Chocolate salami is a delicious dessert, easy to prepare, made with biscuits, chocolate, milk, eggs, sugar and cream.
It is prepared in Greece too, with different variations. Unlike Italy, in Greece we prepare it only in summer. My mom used to prepare chocolate salami when I was little and it was one of my favorite desserts.

Cut the chocolate into pieces and melt in a double boiler.
Mix melted chocolate with a ladle, until it becomes creamy and let it cool.
Heat the milk in a saucepan, over low heat. The milk must be hot, but should not boil.
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is smooth, and pour it into the saucepan with the milk, mixing well.
Pour the milk, egg yolks and sugar into melted chocolate, mixing well.
When the mixture is well blended, let cool.
Meanwhile, whip the cream and incorporate in the chocolate mixture.
Mash the biscuits and moisten with cognac.
Add the biscuits to the mixture of chocolate and cream and stir well to combine ingredients.
Put the dough into a sheet of baking paper and roll it up, pressing to give your sweet a cylindrical shape.
Wrap chocolate salami in aluminum foil and place in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
You can serve chocolate salami whole or already sliced.
