Fried veal meatballs
The fried veal meatballs are part of the traditional Greek food. A main dish of meat, that can also be served as an appetizer or to accompany the ouzo, typical drink, which is offered as an aperitif and thirst-quenching.

Ingredients
- 700 gr ground veal
- 200 gr stale bread
- 2 eggs
- 1 onion
- 3 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 2 tablespoons chopped mint
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, pepper
- some flour (for flouring)
- Oil for frying
Preparation
In a large bowl combine the bread, the ground beef, onion, parsley and mint, finely chopped , oregano, eggs, olive oil, salt and pepper.
Mix with your hands until smooth. If the ingredients do not seem mixed well, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of bread crumbs.
Chill the mixture for about an hour.
Take a large spoon of the mixture and roll into a ball until all the mixture has been rolled, using your hands.
Dust the meatballs in flour, making sure that the surface is floured, but removing the excess.
Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the meatballs, over medium-high heat, rolling them around, until they are golden brown.
Bake in a moderate oven, 180° C (350° F), for about 40 minutes, turning the meatballs once to brown.
You can serve fried veal meatballs hot but also cold!
