Grandma’s Baked Rice

Hi there! I think Baked Rice is a very comfortable meal. It reminds me when I was a teenager and on Sunday I had lunch in my grandmother’s home. So for me this dish recalls a positive state of mind, a past memory and  a beautiful emotion. The Baked Rice is one of my grandmother’s best recipes I’ve ever cooked and I want to share it with you. Cook Time: 34 mins

Servings: 4 

Ingredients:

  • 300 gr of white rise
  • 200 gr of ricotta
  • 1 spoon of olive oil
  • 2 spoons of Parmesan
  • salt
  • 1 spoon of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 4 sliced ham
  • 4 sliced cheese

Directions:

  1. Pour rice in boiling water and add salt. Cook for 14 minutes
  2. Drain rice and wait 5 minutes
  3. Combine egg, olive oil, rice and ricotta
  4. Butter a baking pan and pour half cooked rice
  5. Add sliced ham and sliced cheese in the middle
  6. Cover with rice and put Parmesan and butter on top
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes
