The bechamel sauce is a French white sauce made with milk and an equal amount of flour and butter. It is the base for many dishes. Now I am going to show you how to make it. It is not difficult.

BECHAMEL SAUCE
INGREDIENTS
These are the ingredients you need to prepare different quantities of bechamel sauce.
- 1 l of milk
- 100 g of unsalted butter
- 100 g of flour
- salt
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
or
- ½ l of milk
- 50 g of unsalted butter
- 50 g of flour
- salt
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
or
- 300 ml of milk
- 25 g of unsalted butter
- 25 g of flour
- salt
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
DIRECTIONS
Here I made a bechamel sauce with 300 ml of milk.
Warm the milk in a small saucepan or in the microwave. Cover and set aside.
Place the butter in another saucepan and melt it completely over medium heat. Make sure it does not brown.
Add the sifted flour and continue whisking for 2/3 minutes until the butter-flour mixture turns to a golden colour.
Gradually pour in the warm milk (a little at a time).
Keep whisking for a few minutes so that no lumps form and your bechamel sauce is creamy.
Then season with salt and nutmeg.
Your bechamel sauce is ready.
