Chocolate and Coconut Salami

Hi there! I would like to introduce you a tasty no-bake-dessert: sweet salami. In Italy we call it salame dolce or salame di cioccolato. The original recipe needs eggs but in my version there aren’t and I have added a special ingredient: coconut 😉  It can be preserved  3 days in fridge and you can serve it sliced. The typical shape of a salami gave the name to this amazing dessert. Shall we start?

Prep Time: 10 mins + 2 hours cooling in  fridge

Cook time:  –

Servings: 8

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of dark chocolate
  • 80 grams of butter
  • 1 spoon of white sugar
  • 2 spoons of grated coconut
  • 1 spoon of Malibu white rum
  • 150 grams of chocolate cookies

Directions:

  1. Crumb chocolate cookies
  2. Melt chocolate (even in microwave) and add butter, coconut, sugar and Malibu
  3. Add cookies and shape as a salami with your hands. Help yourself with wax paper
  4. Add some extra coconut and close your salami in wax paper. It needs to cool for 2 hours in fridge.

Tips: if you don’t like rum you can substitute it with milk. Remember once you eat your salami to preserve it in fridge.

This recipe is very easy and quick because you don’t need to bake. Surprise your guests with this Italian recipe 😉 Enjoy !
