Recipe: Mini apple cakes with cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 300 gr.(10.5 Oz) of flour
  • 200 gr. (7.0 Oz) of butter
  • 120 gr. (4.2 OZ) of sugar
  • the grated zest of one lemon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 apples
  • 4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 16 teaspoons of sugar
  • a little glass of limoncello liqueur (Limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur mainly produced in Southern Italy)

Method

  1. Prepare the short pastry.
  2. Cut into small cubes apples.
  3. Pour the liqueur limoncello on apples.
  4. Mix the apples with cinnamon and sugar, and let stand for 30 minutes.
  5. Cut 8 discs of short pastry to make the base of the patties..
  6. Then cut out the other disks to cover the cakes.
  7. Grease the molds.
  8. Arrange the discs for base in the molds.
  9. Pour into any mold, one tablespoon of chopped apples.
  10. Cover with the other disks.
  11. With the help of a fork engrave around the edge to close.
  12. Bake Mini apple cakes with cinnamon in preheated oven for 25 minutes at 170° degrees (338 F).
