Strawberry Tiramisù

Hi guys probably many of you know the Italian sweet “Tiramisù”,which is really popular; I think it’s the favourite sweet for most of the people here. In its classical version, it is flavored with cocoa powder, chocolate and coffee, but now let’s see how to make a spring tiramisù, by using a seasonal product such as strawberries:

Strawberry Tiramisù

Ingredients (4-5 people):

150 g ladyfingers biscuits (known as “savoiardi”)

500 g strawberries

250 mascarpone cheese at room temperature

3 eggs

3 tablespoon sugar

40 g powdered sugar

1 orange

2 tablespoon of limoncello  (lemon liqueur)

Method:

1- Prepare the syrup for the ladyfinger biscuits : In a mixer blend 200 g of strawberries with the powdered sugar, liqueur, juice and grated skin of the orange.

2- Now make the mascarpone cream: separate  egg whites from egg yolks then beat the egg whites until stiff and beat the egg yolk with sugar till you obtain a cream. Now add the mascarpone cheese to the egg yolks and sugar and blend the ingredients (you can do this by using an electric beater at low speed). Finally add the egg whites to the dough and gently blend by using a spoon.

3- At this point take a casserole: cover the bottom with a layer of ladyfinger biscuit and pour half of the syrup over them. Then add a layer of mascarpone cream and some strawberries, first cut in little pieces. Repeat this by making a second layer of ladyfinger bscuits, syrup and cream and finally decorate with the rest of the strawberries.

4- Let the tiramisù rest in the fridge for at least  2-3 hours  then yu can serve it :D.

If you let it rest in the fridge during the night that’s better, because the biscuits will completeley absorb the syrup and the tiramisù will be softer. But remember to consume it within two days.
