Fried Sticks of Italian Mozzarella

Ingredients:

  • 600 g Italian buffalo or cow mozzarella PDO
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 1 tablespoon of dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon of dried paprika
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

 

Preparation:

  • Cut the Italian mozzarella cheese into sticks.
  • Put them into the freezer.
  • Drench them in the flour, the corn flour, the oregano and the paprika together with a cup of water.
  • Dip the cheese stick into the mixture and then roll them in the bread crumbs until they are covered on each side.
  • Put the sticks into the refrigerator for about half an hour.
  • Fry the Italian mozzarella sticks a few pieces at a time in very hot oil for just few seconds until they get golden brown.
  • Serve immediately with the desired sauce.
